In your Mindmatrix sandbox, you may need to add new user accounts or contacts to test functionality. As a rule, you should never use invalid or fake email addresses for testing purposes because this can actually hurt your email sending IP.
- Start by adding only valid email accounts to Mindmatrix.
- A valid email account is an email address with a working inbox, not a distribution list or otherwise fake email with no connection to an inbox.
- If you cannot use an email account to send or receive emails, do not use it for testing.
What if I run out of valid email addresses to test?
You can delete contacts and user accounts previously added to your sandbox as long as the email addresses are valid. If you attempt to re-add hard bounced contacts, the platform will reject them.
Please be advised, that sending to bad addresses will prevent you from receiving email campaigns and new user account emails from your sandbox. This can take days or weeks to recover, and Mindmatrix cannot change this for you.
What should I do if I do not receive the email?
To white list our IPs for your sandbox, please check with your project manager or enablement consultant.
Where should I look for emails if they go to spam?
Company email accounts -
These will go to your personal inbox spam filter or your company level spam filter.
Public email accounts -
Providers like Gmail will throttle your emails. They will go to a spam folder automatically set by gmail, or may appear in your inbox marked as an unsafe message.
Mark these messages as safe or remove them from Spam to help recover your score.
Here are instructions on how to do this.
Using invalid emails can hurt the performance of email sending when your account goes into production.
Do not under any circumstances test with invalid or fake email addresses.
