How do I submit a (Step Layout) Opportunity record?

If you, (or your Users, if you are in charge of a Channel) aren't seeing an Opportunities option, make sure the Role has the appropriate Opportunity permissions. Admins can slide the Opportunity feature to the create/own/delete level. You can email Support@Mindmatrix.net, or put in a ticket, for further help or for them to enable this for you or your Users.  There are two different Opportunity options available to give to Users

  1. Option 1: Simple Opportunity  - a basic submission form/record.
  2. Option 2: Multi-Step Process Opportunity (described below)


To submit an opportunity record,
  1. Go to the “Manage” tab
  2. Select “Opportunities”
  3. Choose an Opportunity record format from the tabs on the right side of the screen.
  4. Click on the "Create Records" button.


Select an expected close date for the sales effort, and fill in the data fields under the “Additional Info” tab. When you are finished, click on the arrow icon.



Use the add/remove toggle to add any relevant contacts and review the information in the header for accuracy. (You can edit any entry that has a gear or pencil-note icon simply by clicking on said icon). When you have filled in all information, click on the “Finish” button.



While creating a new step-wise opportunity type from the Opportunity Custom Fields page (Setup > Custom Fields > Opportunity Custom Fields), you will now see a new option to make associating contacts mandatory for the opportunity.

After clicking on the "Enable Step Process" checkbox, you will see the option "Make association of contact as mandatory step." By selecting "Yes," the system will require users to associate at least one contact when registering an opportunity. If a user fails to do so, an error message will be displayed, prompting them to associate at least one contact. 




Your Opportunity record will now appear under the appropriate tab.
