How do I test a drip campaign?

Always test your drip campaign before sending it to any contacts. This will give you the opportunity to verify the email campaign, logic and delays are working properly.

As a best practice, you should test your drip campaign to make sure it is working properly.

To test your drip campaign, click on the Test icon.

Choose the contact in your list that you want to send the test drip campaign to by double-clicking the name.  We suggest sending the test emails to yourself to make sure everything is working properly Emails will be physically sent to the test contact’s inbox.

Once you’ve selected your test contact after entering the Test screen, select, “Run Test” to start testing mode.

In testing mode, the system will run through the logic of your drip to make sure it is working as it should. Click, “Ok” on the info pop-up to proceed.

Continue to click the, “Proceed to Next Item” link for every step in the campaign drip.

Every time, “Proceed to Next Item,” is clicked, the system will show the step, with success or failure status. Repeat this until you have completed the drip campaign.

The testing mode will give you several options for feedback on your drip template. The most common ones are outlined below. If you need more information in regards to one not listed below, contact your Consultant or Support for more information.

No Match Decision - No test contact(s) matched the Condition set

Matched else - Test contact(s) did not match the condition decision set, and therefore was flowed into the “Else” path Matched if - Test contact matched condition decision set and therefore were flowed through “If” path

Sent Email <name> - Email was successfully sent

Waited until <date> - Delay test was successful

Once you finished testing the drip campaign template, you can click Done at the top of the page.

Review the test log made by the system to see how your drip performed and if there are any logic changes, or otherwise needed.

Click, “Save,” and “Close” once you’re done testing to save your changes and exit your drip.
