How to Delete Accounts from Account Lists?
The Mindmatrix Bridge platform provides the ability to delete accounts directly from the Account List Preview page.
This article walks through the available deletion methods, including single account deletion, bulk deletion, and the

Single and Bulk Deletion: Administrators can delete individual accounts or use the Bulk Delete option to remove all accounts at once from the list.
Provides flexibility to manage account cleanup at any scale.
Contact Retention Control: When deleting an account, administrators can choose to delete the account along with its associated contacts, or delete only the account while keeping the contacts intact.
Ensures that contact data is preserved when only the account record needs to be removed.
Static and Smart List Support: Deletion functionality is available in both Account Static Lists and Account Smart Lists, ensuring consistent behavior across list types.
Shared Account Protection: Shared accounts included in a Static List cannot be deleted unless appropriate ownership and permissions exist, preventing accidental removal of shared data.
Confirmation Prompts: All deletion actions require user confirmation before execution, reducing the risk of accidental data loss.
Accessing the Account List
To access the account deletion functionality, follow these steps:
Navigate to Connections → Lists → Account Static List (or Account Smart List).
Create a new list or open an existing list.
Add the desired accounts to the list.
Click Next, then Finish to access the Preview Page.
The Preview Page displays all selected accounts along with the available action options, including the Delete and
Bulk Delete buttons.
Delete Options Available
On the Preview Page, two delete options are available:
Delete (Single Selection) – Allows you to delete individually selected accounts from the list.
Bulk Delete (Multiple Selection) – Allows you to delete all accounts from the list at once.
Before performing a delete action, the relevant accounts must be selected from the list.
Deleting an Account with Associated Contacts
When deleting an account, administrators have the option to remove both the account and all of its associated
contacts. This is useful when the entire account relationship, including all related contact records, is no longer needed in the system.
Steps:
Select the account(s) from the list.
Click Delete.
Choose the option to delete Accounts and Contacts.
Confirm the action.
Result:
The selected account is deleted from the system.
All contacts associated with the account are permanently removed.
A confirmation notification appears after successful deletion.
Verification can be performed by checking both the Accounts and Contacts pages to confirm that both the account
and its associated contacts have been removed.
Deleting Only the Account (Retaining Contacts)
The system also allows deletion of the account while keeping associated contacts intact. This is useful when the
account record needs to be removed but the individual contact records should remain in the system for future use or reassignment.
Steps:
Select the account(s) from the list.
Click Delete.
Choose the option to delete Only Accounts.
Confirm the action.
Result:
The account is deleted from the system.
Contacts previously associated with the account remain in the system and are available for reassignment or future use.
Bulk Delete Functionality
The Bulk Delete option allows administrators to delete all accounts from the list at once, rather than selecting individual
accounts. This is particularly useful for large-scale data cleanup operations where multiple accounts need to be removed simultaneously.
Steps:
Click the Bulk Delete option.
Choose whether to delete accounts only or accounts along with their associated contacts.
Confirm the action.
After refreshing the page, the account count will reflect the updated total, confirming that the bulk deletion has been
processed successfully.
Behavior for Shared Accounts
If shared accounts are included in a Static List, attempting to delete them will not remove those accounts from the system. Shared
accounts are protected and cannot be deleted unless the user has appropriate ownership and permissions. This safeguard prevents
accidental removal of account data that is shared across multiple users or organizations.
Smart List Deletion
The same deletion functionality is available within Account Smart Lists. Accounts filtered into the Smart List
can be deleted individually or in bulk, and both deletion options (accounts only or accounts with contacts) are fully supported.

Irreversible Action: Deletion actions are permanent and cannot be undone. Ensure that the correct accounts are selected before confirming.
Confirmation Required: Confirmation messages are displayed before completing any deletion process to prevent accidental data loss.
Page Refresh: Refreshing the page after deletion updates the account count and list view to reflect the changes.
Permission Requirements: Proper user permissions are required to perform deletion actions. Users without the necessary permissions will not be able to access the delete functionality.

Flexible Account Cleanup: Administrators can choose to delete accounts individually or in bulk, adapting the process to the scale of the cleanup operation.
Contact Retention Control: The option to retain or remove associated contacts during account deletion ensures that valuable contact data is preserved when needed.
Shared Account Protection: Built-in safeguards prevent the accidental deletion of shared accounts, maintaining data integrity across the organization.
Consistent Behavior Across List Types: The deletion functionality works consistently across both Static Lists and Smart Lists, ensuring a uniform experience.
Efficient Data Management: Bulk deletion reduces the time and effort required for large-scale account cleanup operations.

The account deletion functionality provides administrators with flexible and efficient control over account management directly
from the Account List Preview page. Whether deleting individual accounts or performing bulk operations, the system offers clear
options for managing both account and contact data with precision.
With built-in confirmation prompts, shared account protection, and the ability to retain or remove associated contacts, this
feature ensures that data cleanup is performed safely and accurately — supporting efficient account lifecycle management across both Static and Smart Lists.
