Understanding Opportunity Ownership

Opportunity Ownership allows users to have complete usage rights on an Opportunity record. This helps a Sales team (or a Partner User), as ownership of opportunity records can easily be assigned to them by a Marketing Team, Channel Manager or Channel Admin. Other Users will be able to see the status and the contacts associated with the Opportunity record as the new owner User progresses through the Opportunity.

To assign Ownership of an Opportunity to another User, click on Opportunities under Manage. 
Note: this may be under a different part of your navigation bar depending on your settings and customization. Contact your Support team or Consultant for further assistance if you can’t find the selection.

Here you will see a list of your Opportunity records. Click on an Opportunity record to open it

Click on Views in the top righthand corner, then select, Ownership

Under Ownership, click on, Set Owner next to the User you'd like to assign the Opportunity to. 

This will change the status of this Opportunity to show Current Owner

The User that created that Opportunity will always have the Creator label
