1. To create an email template, click on Setup, then Asset Management > Templates
Note: Things may be under a different part of your navigation bar depending on your settings and customization. Contact your Support team or Consultant for further assistance if you can’t find the selection noted.
Creating a New Email Template
2. Select Email under the tab options to navigate to the correct section. You'll see a Create button pop-up.
3. To Create a new email, click the Create button.
To edit an existing email template, hover over the icon of the template you'd like to edit and click, Edit
If you see a pop-up that says, Restricted, it means you do not have the correct access to edit it by design.
If possible, make a Copy of that template to use for editing instead.
Skip to step Step 8 if you are editing an already created email template
4. If you've created a new template, select “Go”
Most of the time you'll be selectin No for Input Based media
5. Type in the name of the email template, write a description, and give the email template a filter to organize it. Then click on the 'arrow' icon.
Optional information fields:
A. Description: Add any relevant explanatory notes and comments
B. Language: Select the default localization language for this template
C. Valid From, Valid To, and Expiry Reminder: Set an expiration date for your template
D Filters and Filter Categories: Assign search Filter tags to your template

6. In the "Settings" section, you can set parameters such as adding a thumbnail image or making the template mobile responsive (see note below for more detail). When you have made your selections, click on the 'arrow' icon.
Settings Options:
A. Select Template Thumbnail Image
B. Select Brand and Theme collateral for use in the template editor
C. Make Template mobile responsive
Making a template mobile responsive takes away some email editor features that do not work on mobile devices to get the best performance
7. You can import an existing design if you have the HTML already, or choose a wireframe. If you wish to start from scratch, click "close", on the lower left-hand corner of the pop-up.
Editing an Email Template
8. Here you can make edits to your email template
Your toolbar layout will change as you click on different sections of the email template. Here is the basic layout for what you need to know:
An expanded toolbar can be brought up for advanced editing by clicking on a placed text block, then clicking on the "Insert" icon that appears and then selecting the '</>
' icon.
This can be used to format text, insert symbols, change text coloring, and insert variables (hover over toolbar icon for descriptor)
</> Variables - the Variable Tool </> will generate coding for responsive text
- User - pulls from that User’s profile
- Company - pulls from the overall company profile
- Contact - pulls from the contact on the receiving end
Smart Objects will let you drag and drop different building blocks for your template
- Drag an object where you’d like to place it
- A yellow highlight will color the placement block
- Click the ^ < v > arrows to place the Smart Object below, above, left or right of the yellow highlighted block
- Click the to replace the block highlighted
Images can be inserted by using a Smart Object
- Double click on an image block after dropping it into the template
- Pick from Gallery to use an already uploaded image, or upload a new image OR map to a responsive input that will pull in branding
- Change the size of the image container, alt text, image alignment within container, and border
- Link an image to an internal asset or external URL
A new smart object called "Asset" has been added to the email editor under the Advanced Objects section. This feature allows you to incorporate various assets into your email templates, enhancing their content and visual appeal.
Adding Assets to Your Email Template
- Access the email editor.
- Navigate to the Advanced Objects section.
- Locate and select the new "Asset" smart object.
- Insert the Asset object into your desired location within the email template.
- Once added, you can select from different types of assets to include.
- You can add multiple assets to a single email template as needed.

Tips for Using Assets
- Consider the relevance of each asset to your email's content and purpose.
- Ensure that the assets you choose complement your email's design and don't overcrowd the template.
- Test your email template with different asset combinations to find the most effective layout.
9. When you are finished making your edits, click Save (template email must have a subject line), and then click on the "arrow" icon.
