In order to use a landing page, you need to publish the landing page template into "Output" mode. You can learn more about using landing pages in Output mode here: How do I use landing pages? 1. To create a landing page, you will need to utilize a web template. First go to Setup, Asset Management, and Templates. Select the "Web" tab and click "Create"
Note: this may be under a different part of your navigation bar depending on your settings and customization. Contact your Support team or Consultant for further assistance if you can’t find the selection.
2. Choose your personalization type (i.e. whether you want to make the web page a questionnaire or standard) and click “Go”
3. Give your template a name, description and set of filters, and then click on the arrow icon.
Other optional areas include "Description", template expiration dates, and template search filters, and "Language selection". If you select "Valid To/Valid From" dates, the landing page use will expire on the date set and users will no longer allowed to be able to publish it for use.
4. Under Settings, upload an image of your thumbnail, select the size of your web template, choose any branding standard if applicable, and then click on the arrow icon.
Overview of the "Settings" Section:
A. Upload a thumbnail - Select a template gallery thumbnail. (If you don't upload a thumbnail, the system will automatically grab a screenshot as your thumbnail for you).
B. Select webpage size - (800 pixels is the defaul selection).
C. "Choose a Brand for this Template" and "Choose a Theme for this Template" - Select the Brand and Theme elements, if any any, that you want to have available in the template editor.
5. Create your new landing template under the Web Editor step, or start from provided Wireframe by selecting, "Wireframes" in the Web Editor top navigation bar
6. To begin adding objects to your template, first click on the section button. Then, click and drag to select the size of the section. You can double click on the section to customize the visual settings for the section and then click Save. Once you have set up a section, you can place any of the items from the "Add" tab within the section
You can add this edit as point number 7. A new enhancement has been added Incase if the image added on the web page doesn’t load either due to an internet issue or for some other reason. You can now add the Alt text after adding the image object. If the image fails to load while previewing the web page the ‘Alt text’ added in the image object will display instead of the image. You can update this change in template or in media section.
Additional Helpful Notes
- You can repeat this process multiple times if you want multiple color schemes
- All objects are mobile compatible by default, meaning the object will automatically adjust its size to fit the reader's device
- Selecting, "Show/Hide Property" will bring up further options for items and sections
- Clicking will put the web editor in full screen mode, for easier editing
- You can personalize your landing pages with a sub-domain (How to personalize landing page links with a different domain)
7. You can also add the Text Object layers to the web page from the Layers Palette.
8. Once done, click Save. You can also Preview after you save to see your changes by selecting the Preview button. Or, preview it on mobile by click, Mobile View after saving.
To save as a versioned number, select the drop-down under the Save option and select "Save as Version"
Select Send Email Notification if you'd like all Users who the template was shared with to be notified of their new asset
